A B O U T

DOMINIC

I was born and raised in Binsingen, Germany and came to the United States after falling in love with a US soldier who was station in Germany. We were together 16 years, but married legally in 2015 when it became legal for same sex to marry. On January 1, 2016 early in the morning, my husband was struck head on by a drunk driver, and passed away after sustaining fatal injuries.

I consider myself to be a good 3rd mind when invited professionally into a relationship or marriage because of my expirience- marriage isn’t easy, and neither is getting to that point, but it is super hard to loose that grip on what becomes our entire world- our relationship with our spouse/significant other.

I also practice pre-dating therapy, which is a type of coaching and sometimes psychotherapeutic techniques when preparing someone to enter or re-enter the dating world.

After my own time grieving and recovering from the loss of my husband, I am proud to be a new dad via adoption, and legal custodial parent to my younger brother.

My Methods in Therapy

Relationship Bootcamp
This is a full 15 week, 15 or 30 session counseling bootcamp where we attack the problems in your relationship at the roots. 2 sessions are devoted to an assessment/interview, where I speak alone (one on one) with both participants and we discuss the existing problems, as well as my formal assessment for each as an individual- which is required. In the third session I present my game plan (formal plan for treatment) and revises can be made where needed. The remaining sessions are for intervention, remediation, and reconnection.

Mediation

Mediation is the simple process of finding common ground between two people- this can be before therapy, as an intervention method, or after therapy if the relationship were to result in dissolution.

Pre-Dating

After a traumatic relationship, or a traumatic ending to a relationship, the death of a significant other, or the first time entrance into the dating world, a person can find themselves needing help in order to get back in the game and be successful in relationship dynamics.
